Sleeved And Doing Fine!

My family and I were sleeved on Monday, and each of us had a different experience! I had very little pain, my aunt had a little trouble coming out of anesthesia, and my cousin, had lots of gas pain and freaked out a bit, but she's never had any major surgery. Right now my aunt and I are relaxing in the lobby of the beautiful lucerna, until our ride arrives. My cousin went into town with cecey to get somr new sunglasses. Everyone is great, the broth at the hotel isn't great like the others have daid, but we have been spoiled by Omar. He has taken us every dau to casa de mole for luncj, amd their soup is beyond great. Dr Kelly is phenomrnal, he treated us girls to a wonderful pedi, and spent lots of time visiting and answering questions. Never had any trouble really. Great experience. :)

I'm so excited for you and the family. I wish I had someone close to me having the surgery also.

I am having mine with Dr. Almanza on July 9th. Are him and Dr. Kelly from the same clinic or is he at the hospital?

Aaaw so glad to hear you are doing so well. That hotel lucerna is beautiful isn't it? Enjoy your time there, and wish you all an easy recovery.

Fabulous news!! Congrats to all of you and welcome to the losers bench! First lesson learned - everyone's journey will not be quite like anyone else's. :)

We are now home and fully rested from our mini vacation! It truly felt like one! From being treated to the best soup, shopping and pedicures as a gift from the Dr., I couldnt ask for a better experience, or a more highly skilled physician and team. Lucernas broth has nothing on casa de mole's connsumme!

A pedicure is the way to my heart :)

I will second Cissie's comments!! I was sleeved by Dr Kelly on Thursday. I was nauseous the first night and up till about noon the next day, but once it passed, it was gone. Yesterday I had one small set back related to some gnarly menstrual cramps (I have fibroids and bad cramps and had to stop my BC pills for surgery so I knew my cramps would be bad) but Dr Kelly came to my hotel to check on me immediately! And then Cecy came and gave me two awesome pain injections and some lorazepam so I could rest. I slept for about 3 hours and woke up a new person! Today has been fantastic!

I've had zero problems getting in my liquids, and I'm thrilled about that! I feel wonderful today and I'm learning to appreciate that "displacement" burp when you drink that helps you clear gas. LOL. Also trying to listen to that hiccup even though I'm on clears for now, cause I know that when I add shakes next week that'll help me not overeat.

My husband is with me and we've had broth from several local restaurants, including a shrimp albondegas today that was DIVINE!!! I've been sipping broth while he enjoys the fabulous food around here! And yes the one Cissie mentioned is fab!!!!

My experience has been very good overall, and Dr Kelly is just top notch. I don't care who taught him, I don't care what coordinators have to say about him... That is one gentle, kind man. All of us here this week (there has been an overlap of 9 of us, he only tries to do 3 in a day) feel the same way! We are all leaving with smiles on our faces.

Dr Kelly is working on an awesome website that is gonna make it a lot easier for people to find him. I'm so happy for him!

I'll write more when I get home tomorrow, but for now I want to enjoy my last afternoon at this wonderful Hotel Lucerna! Gorgeous.

Good luck everybody!!!!

It sounds like ya'll had an awesome experience! Dr Kelly is great!

Glad you are doing great - I'm the girl you talked to in the lobby you talked with the day you got in, who showed you my incisions, lol. Glad you all did great, and it realy was like a little mini vacation.

I thought Tijuana was beautiful, it is such a shame that the drug cartels and crime have given it such a bad reputation.

Which one was Casa de Mole? I'm not sure, all I know is that the place across the hotel that looks like a giant tiki hut had the most awesome fish Soup - it was so good, I've been trying to find a recipe that would seem similar, but no luck, lol.

Good Luck on your journey.

That must be the Tiki Hut looking place. We had the fish albondigas, minus the albondigas, but omg it was soooooo good.

I know what you mean by the displacement burp, has been so helpful while drinking.

We ate once at the Tiki Hut too and the food was fabulous! My husband had a few things that were soooo good! I'd love to go back there!

So glad you are all doing so well! I love Dr Kelly too, & can't say enough good things about him! Actually still miss being there with him & the team!

I heard rumors he may be looking into a cruise for past patients? Anyone hear anything on that? I would love to do something like that!

If not then maybe a trip back to visit him sometime next year!
