I am 12 days post op and pretty emotional today. I go back to work tomorrow and I am hoping that will help. I just feel in a funk. I already take something for depression so I don't know what this is

I know how you feel. I am 4 weeks post op and I went they the same thing after my surgery I think for me it was realizing everything had changed. I mentally knew it would change but when it actually hit me that it had changed, I just had feelings of sadness. It does get better. Going back to work may help you feel some better. Sitting around the house with all kinds of time to think made me depressed. When I went back to work I was so busy I didn't have time on my hands like I did when I was home. Just be sure not to overdo it. And try to keep your eating and drinking schedule as close to normal as possible. Good luck with work. We may be at different stages in our journey but we are all in the journey together.

Yep, going back to work will help. It will make you feel like you're "normal" again. This is a tough journey emotionally, especially when you've already got other things going on... and we have to take this journey while still dealing with "real life". There are lots of times now when I forget that I'm sleeved, until I get ready to eat. It will get better! :) ((Hugs))

It's quite normal. Getting into a regular routine will help, get you Vitamins in - they are very important for your mental well-being as well as physical well-being. And get out and walk or do gentle exercises as much as you can. The Serotonin that your brain releases will mimic what any prescription can do for you.

It'll get better! :-D

After my mother had her bypass she cried alot... it threw me off because my mother NEVER cries. I told her it was just her hormones out of whack because of the surgery. She got better about it over time.

I hope that you start to feel better as well!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
