Vitamin Help!

I was sleeved on march 26th and have been battling with my multivitamin. Hopefully some of you veterans can give me a little advice. I have went through a bottle of celebrate vitamins and now am on a bottle of bariatric advantage vitamins. It seems like no matter which one, they both make me extremely nauseous to the point of even throwing up today within 10 minutes of taking it. Now I have been extremely fortunate and to this day have not thrown up at all but this vitamin made me throw up for the first time and I don't want it to happen again. After calling my surgeon he said to find an over the counter multi chewable I could tolerate and just to make sure I mix it with a b complex. I am looking for some suggestions of what to buy over the counter and where to buy them. And also about how much are they going to cost compared to the bariatric specialty vitamins, and is it going to cause me to be deficient in any other vitamins by doing this switch? My DH was just laid off so anywhere we can save money is a bonus.

  • I will just share with you what my NUT has told us - you can take any over-the-counter chewable MVI as long as it says "complete" on the label (includes Iron in the tablet). This included children's

Agreed! Trial and error for these are just miserable!!

My NUT recommended I take the Flintstone complete chewables--two a day--in addition to my calcium. I inquired about gummies and she said that the gummies did not provide adequate Iron. Again, this is according to my NUT, I am not an expert in any way shape or form on these.

Yep! My nut told me 2 Flinstones complete (purple bottle) a day. I can get them at sams for a great price. You can get them at Walmart, Target, Grocery store...just about every where.

I also take 1 B100, a day 3 calcuim chews, and a B12 once a week. Levels have been perfect each time.

By the way, to be completely honest, My flinstone is the worst part about my sleeve and I can live with that!!!

What ever you settle with I am sure you will find one that your tum likes and then you will be fine. Good Luck to you.
