Questions About Where To Have Surgery

Hi Everyone,

I made the choice to remove what I had written. I was tired of all the drama that was going on. There are too many more important things like supporting each other.

Sometimes some people just can not Stop so I have ended this conversation.

Thanks for the great support from many of you.

I love these boards! Please let's stop bickering and just support each other! I never would have considered Mexico either till I started researching it. I talked to a few places here in CA and the

I'm looking at my options for having the VGS. The cost in Mexico is just much cheaper, but I still just don't know. I am going to have to pay for this on my own, but the thought of traveling so far really bothers me. I'm afraid the trip home is going to just be to much. Did you have any trouble? I have already spoke with a surgeon close to home, but the cost is about $7000 more. Just don't know?

Not sure where you live, but I am going to Mexico from the East Coast (new jersey). So quite a trip for me. I am not worried about the trip home. I will just get up & walk around a bit on the plane & will let the staff know I have just had surgery. I also plan to see if I can upgrade to business class for the trip home, just to give me a bit of extra room.

My surgery if I had it here in NJ would have been $24,850. I simply couldn't afford that. So I am going with Dr Kelly in Mexico & it is costing $5500, plus airfare (which is about $500). That includes everything you need there.

Suzanne, that is fabulous to hear! So happy for you! Congratulations on your weight loss & continued success to you!

Hun, it's cheaper for a few reasons, but mainly, because the American dollar is worth 12x more, so we get a deal. If you converted the cost into pesos, you would see that its quite expensive
