Got A Date!

I'm so excited......April 12th I will be having my VSG surgery. I'm excited and nervous - but I hope this month goes by quick!

If all goes well I'll be having the SILS Sleeve (Single Incision Laproscopic Sleeve) which means only one incision through my belly button (no scars!).

Pre surgery diet starts on April 5 and isn't too restrictive so it shouldn't be too bad!

Wish me luck!!!

SW - 240

CW - 229

Goal - 165 to 170

I have my date. It is March 28' date=' 2012! I am SO excited. I am on day 6 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. Day 2 was the worst. I was so hungry. My stomach hurt! I survived and am doing great now. I have lost 18 pounds! It is Crazy! Good luck to all of you!!! :)

I'm March 28th as well! Things happened relatively quickly for me, so today is the first day of my liquid diet since I didn't have my surgery date two weeks prior.

I'm not sure ' date=' but every patient here has to go through a three week course and be on the diet for three weeks. They have the whole thing map out, then you go through a six weeks post op and attend classes once a week for cooking, shopping, coupons and exercise. I have not met another person on line that has had to go through all of this. Does anyone know how to get the guide that ticks about your weight under your profile?[/quote']

Yeah, I haven't had to go through all that...wow...maybe 1/2 that.

I'm not paying for SILS my insurance covers. Not everyone is a candidate for single incision

I've never heard of that option!!!! I assume my surgeon doesn't do that one, but I'll look up the requirements to be a candidate....I'm curious

I am an April 10 date too. I don't have to have do a 2 week Preop diet? Only a 48 hour liquid diet. Seems unheard of here.

Wow congratulations 18 lbs in 6days is great, what protein shakes are you taking? Are you exercising aswell?

Sorry it has been so long. I have been drinking EAS brand shakes. They have 42 g of protein. So far, they are the best tasting to me, in fact, I am drinking one right now! ;) As far as exercise, I try to move around more, I do have bike pedals I use when I don't hurt so badly. My knees are both bone on bone and walking is terribly painful. We have a pool, and will be opening it soon, so that will be my main source of exercise.
