I am on a full liquid diet, does every liquid I have count towards my Fluid oz goal? Today is my first full day and I have to say I underestimated how hard it would be to get everything in.

I need some help. Even with hot tea and strained Soup today I have only got about 45 oz of liquid and only 20 oz of that was Water.< /p>

Yes, fluids like broths or Soups do count. Though the chunkier and creamier the Soup becomes, the harder is it to say how much is Fluid and how much is food. Remember, SF Jell-o counts as do SF Popsicles. Are you drinking Protein Shakes made with Water, skim or soy milk? That counts and helps you get your Protein in! You're doing great, and it does get easier. I try to keep a water bottle with me at all times, and I drink more on days that I exercise versus sitting around.

Thanks for the advice I didn't know the sf Jello and Popsicles count toward fluids, but now that I think of it that makes sense. :)

Thanks so much. I'm trying as hard as I can so I hope I can gradually get in everything that I need. I drank about half of a Protein Shake made with lactose free milk. I guess tomorrow is a new day and I need to figure out things that will work for me.

I was told that my Protein Drinks counted as Fluid. Try to get as much of your Protein Shakes in. It's very important for healing...... ;)

My 84year old Mom just does not like to drink Water, so I put drops in her Water. They are called ReHydration by Energetix. I am thinking I will start using them for myself, especially post-op.

Here is a link: http://www.healthegoods.com/rehydration-2-ounce-energetix.html

Of course I am not saying to use these in lieu of more liquids, but they could help to keep dehydration at bay. I am not offering any medical advice, only knowledge based on experience!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
