We're going to Dr. Garcia for my daughters VSG on Jan 23rd. I have heard good things only so far about him on this web site. If you go to this web site http://www.drfernandogarcia.com you can hear an interview with him. He is also having a couple of seminars in the Chicago area in February. There are a lot of people who have had him to their surgeries. I feel pretty confident in our choice.

I looked on the link you gave and what I noticed was the info they gave for Gastric Sleeve and Sleeve plication mixed up. I am sure just a mix up but for those who are new to WLS might think one sleeve is one thing when actually it is another.

They say when describing being sleeved that they fold the stomach and staple when actually that is plication.

I am not saying anything aboutt the surgeon, I am sure he is wonderful, just a mix up on his website..

I was sleeved by Dr Garcia on Dec 5 and am very pleased with the whole experience.his team is very professional, the Mi Hospital is clean and the nursing staff are great.

I did have an issue with the drain, it lodged some where and caused some pain, but as soon as it was taken out I had no pain. The incisions have healed nicely and have had no issues with drinking or eating.

Send me a message after Jan 23rd and I'll tell you how our experience went with Dr. Garcia and the Mi Doctor Hospital. I feel pretty comfortable with our decision and I keep checking the forums and PM his patients to get their private messages. So far no one has said anything to make we want to change my mind. Good luck to you!

Thank you all for the responses. I've been hearing nothing but good things about him.

@5DogMa - That would be awesome! I'll definitely be PM'ing you to find out about your experience.

Thanks so much!!

Hi snoah. I am planning on having him do my gastric sleeve in february. he must be newer than we

think. because you do not hear much. but it sounds positive. i am scaired and have decided to do

this to have energy and good health for my kids and myself. i hope it works. hope all goes well

for you, take care. oh linda and julie work for him and have been helpful.

If you look up Dr. Garcia on Obesity Help dot com you'll see he's done over 2,000 surgeries. So he's not really new, maybe new to this forum.
