Peanut butter works really well.

Hi, were you advised by your doc to crush the pill? You might see if you can get it in liquid form. Ask your doc about whether you can have Peanut Butter, they would be the better choice to ask.

:jaw: my doc ordered chocolate milk, 2% the night I was in hospital for my meds :) Sure do L-O-V-E Dr. W at NWWLS

You can dissolve it in a tsp of something like Sunny D.....also advice to ask for liquid form is good.... pudding helps me too!

unfortunetly non of the pills i take come in liquid form:faint: . THESE PILLS ARE AWFULL:mad: :biggrin1: . I will deffinetly try the chocolate milk. thanks again ///alex

Yeah I agree that peanut butter might help...anything that already has a strong smell that you don't mind to help mask it. Also, silly as it sounds...holding your nose helps disguise taste to me.

sounds strange but sour is the opposite of bitter. so when i had to crush the vicoden and take them, i did it like a tequila shooter! it worked for me.

I just grin and bear it. I had to do Tylenol sinus a few times before I came up with a liquid alternative. Stupid me mixed the crushed pills into a cup of applesauce. DUH! Next time (if there is one) I will mix the pills into one bite of applesauce, and use the rest of the cup to get the taste out of my mouth! (BTW, I tried mixing the insides of a stool softener capsule into some apple juice -- NASTY, and downright hurt. I still get chills thinking about how horrible that was. Never again. I was still tasting it after several toothbrushings.)

A VERY bitter nasty medication is prednisone and its liquid form prednisolone.. I CANNOT swallow it crushed or swallow the liquid ...

I have tried and I vomit and gag and cry, yes, I literally cry..

Viccodan is nothing.. taste good compared to prednisone..

And I dont taste the Metformin at all.

and I coulndt and cant go with out it..

I got injections for a long time when I was too tight for pills.. too tiny even to swallow them in tiny little bits..

IS there anything WORSE tasting than prenisone??

even when you swallow the pills they leave an after taste I have never experienced in all the meds I have ever tasted.

I dont know what to tell you.. I was physically unable to keep any amount down that I needed... I dont like having to get shots..

Out of my surgeon's mouth (Honest to God) was if you have to crush a pill mix it with a little ice cream. He truly said that, and I won't soon forget it. I think he means a spoonful, but hey a spoonful is better than none especially if it is Blueberry Cream Pie....Ummmmmmmmmm Mayfield's makes the best icecream. One more reason I can't leave Tennessee. If my daughter haden't been there when he said take it with ice cream...she never would have believed it.

I mix it with a little bit of juice, like crystal light, or something. Or even just a little water, like a shots worth and just down it, and then chug (in your case, sip) something else. I had to do that with my antibiotic after surgery. They were caplets, so I just emptied them into a little water and threw it back. It doesn't really help the taste, but it makes it go fast.
