Question About Dr. Aceves

Dr. Aceves will be doing my lapband revision on Dec. 20. I have some questions for those who also used him. Where is his clinic located? Is it close to the border, or is it farther into Mexico? Does he operate from a hospital or clinic? Thanks in advance!

Dr. Aceves operates out of Almater Hospital, which is where your pre-op labs will be done also. He usually has his patients in one wing so that he can make rounds easily and you can talk with the other bariatric surgery patients. The hospital is a few blocks from the Mexico-US border in Mexicali. The area around the hospital is safe but Ernesto will pick you up from the airport and the hotel and make stops at the pharmacy if you need him to. I was not concerned about my safety at all in Mexico.

Foxbins - thanks for the speedy reply!!

I'm here (Almater Hospital) now. Feel totally safe. The people here are wonderful. All of them.

You can see the border from the hospital parking lot.

I just left there this morning. It is wonderful! Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos are great! The hospital is on block from Tue border and you can see the fence from the front door of the hospital. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! They seem to genuinely care about you and your success.

@Serephina - hope you are doing well. I think I saw you when you checked in yesterday morning. My room was right by the nurses station.
