Lurker No More

Hi Everyone!

I've been reading the forums since before my surgery 8/22/2011, but this is my first post.

As I approach the 3 month mark, I can say that I am completely happy with my results. Although I didn't have any medical complications associated with my weight, it was a significant hindrance to my quality of life. As I became heavier and heavier, I found myself becoming more and more withdrawn from the world. Didn't go out shopping anymore, didn't visit friends, and teleconferenced at work rather than go to meetings in person. I wasn't happy with how I looked, and I didn't want anyone to see me.

Recently, I went on vacation with my husband. I really enjoyed ordering off the starter section of the menu, and only eating a small portion of the serving. The only awkward moments were when I had to reassure the servers that I was not unhappy with the food. :biggrin5:

I want to thank everyone who has posted over the last several months. I have learned a lot about this journey, and hope that I can contribute to the discussions in the future.

Thank you to everyone that replied! I just had my visit with the surgeon this morning. He is happy with my progress and gave me a new goal: 20 pounds before 2/9/12!

Hoping everyone has a wonderful weekend!
