Did your tastes change after surgery?

I am only a week out and already I am noticing things I liked preop I don't like now. Just wondering if this is because I am so early out and at this point still kinda miserable that I don't like anything or if infact your tastes really do change.

Anyone have anything they really liked before surgery that they just can't stand now?

  • yep, i agree- even crave different foods- donuts and pizza are no longer at the top of my list! yay!!

  • I taste chemicals in everything artificial. I can't drink my favorite frappe because it tastes like chemicals. I have found that I eat a lot of unprocessed foods because they just taste better.

This may just be mental, but I used to drink at least two cups of coffee a day. I stopped drinking it when i was on my pre-op diet. But now that i'm 14 days post op, I swear the smell of it has repulsed me from wanting any. Weird. Been a coffee drinker since I was 10!

Yes!I noticed a change in tastes..What disturbs me the most is that I cant enjoy water as I used to before..now it has a weird taste :s I also noticed a change in my favourates list..I used to ADORE pizza but I cant stand even thinking about it now!!and it's ok with me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and yeah ,I find sweet things very sugary and I cant take more than one bite occassionally..I am three months out now..
