Before my surgery I got my period every 35-45 days now 10 months after surgery I get it every 21- 28 days. Has anyone else have increased periods? I'm going to my gyn but it takes a few months for an appointment, do you think there is something wrong? I'm in my early 40s and thought I should be slowing down with my period not get in more. From what I have read, this is VERY common after wls. It will settle back to it's regular schedule after a few months.

The reason womens' cycles change after WLS is the influx of extrogen into the bloodstream from the fat cells. As the fat cells shrink/release their stored fat - they release their stored estrogen. There are several posts that have women talking about changes in their cycle. The consensus it , it should calm down in a few months. I have had a hysterectomy - so I just suffered through a 2-3 month recurrence of puberty! Bummer!
