Need help with Pre-Op Diet Headaches

I am on day 2 of my 2 week pre-op diet. It consists of 5 shakes/bars and a sensible meal of 5oz meat and 2 cups of non-starchy veggies. My surgery date is 9/6/11. My head is throbbing and it's not due to dehydration cause I have drank Water all day long. Plus side, getting lots of exercise from walking back & forth to the bathroom at work. It's in the very back, I'm in the very front.

Anyone have any words of wisdom to offer. I am doing the slim-fast high Protein 8oz shakes and the Atkins Breakfast Bars as they had more protein than some others.

I can't offer any help, but I went through that when I first started low carb dieting. It just takes a little time to get through. You should be feeling better in the next few days though.

I am in week 2 of a similar pre-op diet. My surgery is Aug 30th. My nut told me that the headaches are from caffeine and/or carb withdrawals. The will go away after about day 5. Hang in there.

Keep with it! Headaches will pass. Think of it as a detox to get ready for surgery. Also - shy away from NSAIDs even this early pre-op. I know that my doc said tylenol only one week prior to surgery and two weeks after (for sleeve). It will all be worth it in the end!

Thank you SO much for the words of encouragement. I am staying strong through prayer, willpower and sheer stubborness. ;)
