5 days post op and gained 3 pounds??

Hi everyone. I had my surgery 6/28. Just got home from the hospital yesterday. So far I haven't been able to do anything but get down water and some broth. But when I weighed myself this morning I actually gained 3 pounds from the day of surgery! Is this normal?

It's normal! Your body has going through a lot in the past week and you could be holding on to weight from the fluids you received in the hospital and from swelling. Your body may also take awhile to adjust to the dramatic decrease in calories. Continue to keep hydrated, get some protein in when you can and don't stress. You will see the weight start to drop off soon! Good luck and congratulations on your surgery. :D

Completely normal. You received fluids when you had your surgery and what you are experiencing is not unusual at all. Hang in there, don't focus on the scale at this point (I know it's hard!). Focus on getting good rest, taking care of yourself and learning to drink, drink, drink. The weight WILL come off of you...guaranteed! :D
