Clothing Memories and Question??

So I decided to go through all my bins of clothes from previous sizes that I had stacked in the back of my closet. When I put them away they were are thrown in together. So I went through and organized them by sizes- thinking that will be helpful as I go down in sizes. While I was sorting so many clothes brought back memories. They made me think of specific events and people I was with. Amazing how clothes could do this. It was almost like looking at old photographs. It was kind of fun!

Also as I was looking at the clothes I realized how tiny many of them were and yet at the time I wore them I still felt HUGE. I'm hoping that this time I will appreciate getting down to those sizes and have a better frame of mind than I did in the past. I know that will be easier said than done. Anyone been through this? Have you lost your weight and felt better than you did at that size before? I think it will definitely be a mental game and I hope I will be able to win!

That is a long time away for me but the clothes got me thinking about the future. It will definitely be fun to go clothes shopping in my own closet (not to mention saving a bunch of $$$) and I can't wait to wear the clothes again! Some of them are just so darn cute- now I have a goal! I'm thinking of grabbing a couple pieces of clothing and hanging them up in front of my elliptical machine for motivation while I'm exercising!

I definitely know what you mean. I spent (/wasted) years thinking I wasn't good enough, was too fat, etc. I look back now (at photos and just via memories) and see how I didn't appreciate reality and was constantly thinking I'd be better at some future time. I make a conscious effort now to enjoy what I have right now, not when I hit goal, not any other future point -- because I guarantee if I look back at photos of me from 2011, 10 years from now, I'll think how great I looked. So why not think I look great RIGHT NOW??

Thanks for another reminder. :)

I feel the same way! I really thought I was fat the last time I weighed this much, but feel like I look normal now. Crazy head! I have some really small cloths from a long time ago... vintage cocktail dresses and fun stuff... can't wait to get into them again some day!
