It seems to depend, in large part, on how heavy you are at surgery. Better to think about average percentage of weight lost the first month. I started at 232 and lost 17 lbs, or 7.33% of my total weight, or almost 21% of my excess weight.

I was a revision from the band. I lost 42 pounds with the band in three and a half years. I lost 22 the first month with the sleeve and approximately 10 pounds per month after that. I am five months out. I was at 60 pounds lost on my five month mark with the sleeve and in total I have lost 104 pounds with both surgeries. THE SLEEVE IS AWESOME! No complaints!

Thank everyone for your reply. I had my surgery about a month ago and have lost 24 lbs... I'm doing good seem to be able to keep food down... this surgery I would have to say is saving my life..

I will be a month on Monday but so far have lost 16 pounds post op. I also lost 18 pounds on my pre-op liquid diet. I started a thread in post-op asking about pre-op vs. no pre-op diet and how it affects post-op weight loss. I had my first stall at 2 weeks but when I think about it I had lost 30 pounds at that point in four weeks! Of course my body was in shock. I actually consider my 2 weeks of liquids as my start date.
