Kinda thought things would be better by now

Well it's been 9 months since surgery and down about 120lbs since then and still no luck in the relationship department. Never been on a date much less had a boyfriend, thought things would get easier. Not. Really thought that before I hit 25 I'd be married, that's not the case. Anybody got any suggestions, I'll take all the help I can get.

Ok, I have been talking to this current guy since the first of may. We went out for the first time two weeks ago and lets just say had a very good time( no sex, but made out). He's coming over for dinner tomorrow night and we've been discussing sex. I wonder is it to soon? We've disclosed everything to each other over the last month and a half and I feel really comfortable with him.

Only you can decide if you're ready to take that step. I know with my bf, I made sure we were both on the same page, as far as monogomy goes. He told me he wanted a LTR with me, and had no desire to see anyone else. We have been together over a year now.

How is the dunkin donut guy/relationship going?

You should buy the book "why men love b*****s" it's awesome. It teaches a girl to date and not get pushed around. Doormat to dream girl.

Never heard from the dunkin donut guy again and got dumped via text yesterday by the one I was seeing. Said the he had been taking to his ex, whom he has children with and she wants to get back together. He said that he did not know what he was gonna do. Basically he kept on and on how great I am and it was just like rubbing salt in a wound.

You don't need excess baggage, u r great. Onwards and upwards!!

I finally made a profile on Plenty of Fish and met a keeper ;) But I have also learned a few things along the way.....and here is a list:

you have to have a full body shot, most men are very visual and if they aren't attracted to you they won't put the effort into getting to know you.

you cannot "talk yourself into" a guy....you are either attracted to him or you aren't.

and a huge reminder to all the women, don't get so wrapped up in trying to do all the right things so he will call again....a man that is truly into you will pretty much snap to attention whenever you walk into the room. I never in a million years I would find that and yet he still does it.....look for that! we all deserve it.

I am still almost 40lbs overweight, my boobs have gone away but my butt is going to hang on until the end of time.....and he doesn't see any of it. To him I am beautiful, and for me after almost 3 months I'm actually starting to believe it.

Keep looking, but look for what YOU want, not what you can be for someone else.

Well ladies I would say that this topic is solved for me. After dating the creep, the professor, the pervert, the wuss and the football obsessed-edgar alan poe wannabe(long story). I finally got a keeper, he proposed 3 weeks ago and looks like we're getting married later next year. Still have 100 lbs to go, but he does not care about that. He loves me and that is all I have ever wanted. I just wanted to say thank you all for the support since I posted this topic over a year and a half ago. To those single sleevers that may read this that I never expected to actually meet someone who loved me for me, not for what he thought that I should be or me taking less that what I felt that I deserved due to how I felt about myself.

That is so great! Congratulations! I hope you two have many happy years together.

Ok.... so how's life going? Have YOU set a date? Give us details! ;)

yeah, you never told us if you met him online!

Have you tried volunteering? Do something you are passionate about & its a great way to meet guys that care about the same things you do.

Yes, i met him online. Ironically enough the day after I told the football obsessed Edgar Allen Poe wanna be to buzz off(that's another long story not worth mentioning) my fiance who I will refer to as RM to avoid confusion, messaged me over pof. RM and I have a long distance relationship still going on right now(125 mile distance) and we both still have loose ends to tie up before we get married. We were actually in the same town when we met up, I was in town for a month training at my new job at the time, so we figured we'd give it a shot. I never thought it would have ended up the way that it did. So I go up every Saturday and we have our us time after he gets off work. He has a 3 year old son, who's a doll and no I don't have to worry about the boy's mother. His family is great, a little dysfunctional but they seem to really like me. It's kinda funny my grandma has only seen him once, but she's obsessed with his blue eyes. We've spent a few days with my mom both her coming up to see us and us going to her house, he's growing on her but you know how mom's are especially since I'm an only child.
