Ok so I have 4 more days until it's finally time for my surgery. Yesterday I came down with a bad case of the flu. I was getting sick, having the chills and fever at the same time, and spending a lot of time in the bathroom. Today I've been dizzy and sleeping as much as possible. I'm finally able to keep down Water and Isopure so I'm working on my fluids. I'm just worried this could affect my chance of having surgery! I even dreamed that once I got at the hospital they told me I would have wait until a later date due to me being sick. Aauugghh! My regular doc said if I get sick to call the office right away- but of course they are closed on the weekend and what would they do anyways for the flu? Anyone experience being sick before surgery? Anyone not able to get their surgery once they got to the hospital? I'm stressing out now!!!

:( Well your doctor is right I would call your surgeon and see if you can move it up a week. I would stay on the liquid diet though. I hate really hate that you are sick and can't go through with the surgery.. You defintely don't want to be sick with the flu post op. It would be really bad on your recovery..good luck and hopefully you will be able to have it quickly..

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
