How much protein on liquid diet?

How much Protein are you supposed to be getting in a day on the pre-op liquid diet? I haven't seen my nutritionist yet so I'm not sure. I'm getting in about 62 grams of protein a day, should I be getting more?

and how many carbs are too many? Today I have had 15 grams of carbs..is that too many?

Sara, my surgeon recommends 60g of protein pre-op. There was no mention of counting carbs, but I think by virtue of the full liquid diet you won't get too many. You'll liver will be nice and petite :) Good luck

Thanks :) I will keep having my 60g of protein. Today is day 2 on pre-op for me and it really isn't bad at all! I could do this!

I worked with two different surgeons offices. I think the standard recommendations preop are:

Minimum of 60g Protein and neither surgeons wanted me to worry about carbs.

Post op:

60-80g protein

Less then 30g carbs

Hang in there preop is no fun, but totally worth it!!!

I'm supposed to do 5 shakes a day and aim for 101 grams of protein....
