  1. I had a meeting with my nutritionist today..she wants me to eat 1400 calories/no more than 180 g carbs/at least 120 g protein/30 g fat on days that I work out, and on the days I don't work out: 1200 calories/no more than 140 g carbs/at least 100 g protein/25 g fat. It seems like a lot..but she wants me to eat healthy carbs for my carb allowance so I guess that would be okay. Does this seem like a lot to anyone else? I will be one year out in March. I've been stuck between 197-199 for the past few weeks and want to lose more!
  2. I don't go to meetings, but I do the online program. It really helps to keep me accountable for the foods that I eat instead of just eating whatever I want in small portions.
  3. I had surgery on 3/21/2011 and weighed 250 on DOS. I currently weigh 201 and I have noticed lately that if I do not work out, I do not lose that week and may possibly even gain some depending on my food choices for the week. Exercise is very important in our journey I have come to find out! I have been at a plateau/slow weight loss since about August though, I have only lost about 4 lbs in that time.
  4. Sounds good! I'll have to make it sometime! Do you know if you can refrigerate it and re-heat it?
  5. Thank you. I am going to start that in the morning. I need to get away from carb hell as fast as possible!
  6. I am almost 7 months post-op and for the past few days, all I have been eating is chips, crackers..stuff like that and I never feel satisfied of course Any tips on how to go back to low-carb? I feel so gross!
  7. I waited about 6 weeks before I had caffeine and about 3 months before I had alcohol. I have found though that one drink at a bar (probably 2-3 shots worth of vodka) makes me feel good and 2 just makes me unwalkable drunk lol. So be careful!
  8. My NUT is part of my bariatric package with my surgeon & coordinator also. I can see her as many times as I need FOR LIFE. I'm pretty sure that she knows what she is talking about since she deals with only bariatric patients and nursing mothers. Carolina girl, I think I am going to follow sorta what your NUT said and see how it goes. I am currently losing about .5-1 lb a week and that just seems way too little for being only 6 months out.
  9. I think I am going to aim for between 800-1000 calories per day max and stick to low carb. I have 50 lbs left to go and don't want to slow down my weight loss by eating more
  10. I love Chipotle too! I get the burrito bowl without rice, with fajita veggies, salsa, cheese, double steak or chicken and a side of guacamole Yummy! I eat what I can of it, and then I put the left-overs into microwave safe dishes and have it for lunch for a few days
  11. I am currently a little over 6 months out from surgery and went to see my NUT and she freaked out on me that I wasn't eating enough! I was eating between 800-900 calories per day and low carb. She upped my calories to 1200-1500 calories per day, 180 grams of carbs max and 70-80 grams of Protein. She said that I am never supposed to eat less than 1200 calories per day and she is telling everyone at our support group meetings the same thing. I could maybe agree with her on the calories, but 180 grams of carbs per day? Doesn't that seem a little high? If you are also 6 months or more out, how much do you usually eat on a regular basis?
  12. Just ignore them I get it a lot when I go out to eat with friends but most of my friends know about my surgery so they usually just split an entree with me Like a couple weeks ago, I went to downtown Disney with a friend and we just split a burger..we got a few looks but whatever
  13. I'm going to start doing C25K on Monday. I am 6 months post-op and need to start doing something other than just walking around the neighborhood or on the treadmill. I have 50 more lbs to lose and I know that running will help make that happen faster than just walking
  14. I am going to aim for 1000-1200 calories per day instead of the 1200-1500 but I am going to cut the carbs down to no more than 60 grams per day. 180 grams of carbs per day is ridiculous and I think all the extra carbs are what is making not lose anything right now. I've been stuck between 215-217 for the past 2 weeks and I just want to move past that already!
  15. I am currently 3 months out from surgery and went to see my NUT and she freaked out on me that I wasn't eating enough! I was eating between 600-800 calories per day and low carb. She upped my calories to 1200-1500 calories per day, 180 grams of carbs max and 80 grams of Protein. Doesn't this sound weird for me having had the sleeve performed? I still only get in around 1000 calories max but I'm scared that I am eating too much and because I'm not losing anything!
  16. Hang in there, I am going through the same thing but I am almost 2 months post-op and have been the same weight for the past 2 weeks! I think the reason for my stall is that I'm not eating enough protein so I'm trying to up that.
  17. I saw that everyone has been posting their pre and post-op pics and I love looking at them so I thought I'd show mine also I've lost a total of 41 lbs since 3/19/2011 and while I'm kinda "stuck" at 222.2 right now, I know I'll be losing way more! The first picture is from January 2011 and I was at my highest weight of 263 and the next couple of pictures are from April 16, 2011 at my college graduation. These pictures are actually only 1 month post-op, I just realized that instead of them being 2 month post-op sorry.
  18. I called him and he said that as long as I am not eating over 1/2 a cup of food at a time, and I am tolerating everything well that it is okay. I am eating about 1/4 cup of food at a time right now and feeling satisfied.
  19. I was sleeved on 3/21 so I am almost 3 weeks out. I was on liquids for 7 days after surgery and then moved to pureed foods. I stayed on pureed foods for a couple days and then started incorporating soft foods. Did I mess up by doing that? I've been able to eat grilled chicken, small bites of baked/smashed potatoes, lean turkey deli meat, crackers (only 1 or 2), oatmeal..pretty much any food that I can chew up really well. I haven't had any problems digesting it at all! Did my stomach maybe just heal faster or did I move on too quickly? I feel like I'm eating a healthy diet now, instead of being on just mushies.
  20. I am feeling better now, I went and threw it up and now I feel better. I am probably still going to leave class at break tonight, but at least I am feeling better. It is a learning experience, I will keep healthy approved Snacks with me at all times. Most foods that I've tried have been okay, but not the chicken tonight.
  21. I had my sleeve done on 3/21 so I am a little over 2 weeks out, well I was in a hurry to get to class and instead of stopping for some Soup for dinner, I got 2 grilled chicken strips from Jack in The Box. OMG I feel like I could just throw up! I'm stuck in class until at least 8 too I am NEVER trying that again, I thought I'd be okay because I've been eating canned chicken breast and I chewed it up really really well but I guess it wasn't good enough!
  22. I am almost 2 weeks post-op and on mushies/soft foods. I have been trying every day to get a Protein shake in but they just make me gag! What else can I do so that I can get in my recommended amount of protein daily (70 grams)? I'm trying to do it with food, but I'm not eating enough to do it. Any tips would be amazing, thanks.
  23. I started about a week after, it helps me get my fluids in better than drinking from a glass
  24. I'll have to try that..or maybe get a burrito bowl from Chipotle and puree the stuff
