This may seem like a silly question, but I'm wondering if the staples dissolve or if they are in us for good??? Anyone???

No, the staples won't set off a metal detector, at least not the ones at airports.

I have a big titanium plate holding my neck together and haven't set off any alarms yet so these staples shouldn't either.

They're in you for good. But, your stomach will eventually cover them up! At least that's what I was told/read.
