September 21, 201015 yr This may seem like a wierd question...BUT Is your voice different or hoarse after surgery? Does your throat hurt? I have had 3 c/s but I was never "put under". I am a singer and am curious about this. (not professional...just solos at church, etc. but I do perform a lot). Thanks. Janel
September 21, 201015 yr Some people can get sore throats for a few days after surgery because of the tube that they put down the throat, I had no issues, not that I sing but i do talk a lot! Good luck!
September 21, 201015 yr I had a few days of a little hoarseness but nothing bad. By about the 4th day I sounded normal.
September 22, 201015 yr I was sooooooo dry from the oxygen then kept on me the whole time I was there, that I was very froggy for several days, but have been back to normal ever since.
September 22, 201015 yr Hi, Same thing here I sounded a bit horse for a couple of days but no pain and cleared up quickly. Nancy
September 22, 201015 yr A lot of people (myself included) get occasional sore throats and hoarseness for a few months after surgery due to acid reflux. If you stay on top of your acid blockers and remember to eat and drink slowly (and separate your food and beverages), you can minimize or eliminate this. Also, as others mentioned, expect to be hoarse and have a sore throat for a little while after surgery because the breathing tube they use can irritate the walls of your throat.
