tight feeling in chest...

tomorrow will be my one week since surgery. my follow up appointment is wednesday.

i still have that tight feeling in my chest that i felt after surgery when i would try to drink. i do take prevacid in the morning, and im not having any problems getting fluids/protien down.

how long does this take to go away? i thought it had eased up the other day, but sitting here now, i can feel it. and i'm not drinking anything at this exact moment.

the feeling reminds me of what it felt like when i would overeat with the lapband.

any thoughts?

I had the same kind of experience. For me, it gradually improved over the first four weeks. Now I only feel it when I'm starting to get full or have eaten too quickly. At 1 week, I think it's pretty normal!

It gets better over time, but my understanding is that it will be with you, occasionally, for life -- that tight feeling is your restriction!

If it's excessively unpleasant, talk to your doc, but honestly I suspect that a certain amount of "lump in the chest" feeling is normal for all sleevers, and is part of re-learning how to eat.
