Well, I guess my time here is done. I have just been told that there is no insurance company in Alabama currently covering the band. I got mad, I cried and now I am just trying to cope and find yet another diet to try.:think :think

Alabamaamy, I'm so sorry you got that bad news. Can that be true, though? Where did you hear that? Do you know that in fact to be true?

Whatever the case, I'm sure it's just a matter of time before insurance carriers embrace the band, even in Alabama. I hope you can stick it out until that time, and that you stay healthy and whole in the meanwhile.

Good luck!

What about a self pay option? Many of us have financed the bands!!! It CAN be done if your determined enough to do it. There are all kinds of options out there. Some of us did airline miles credit cards, refi the house, take out loan, sell car and buy cheaper car, ebay for it, garage sales, etc etc etc..... The list is endless to the number of ways to raise the money for it!!!

Don't give up! Sometimes it's easy to get misinformation from other well-meaning folks. Double check your insurance policy. Go on the USA message board and post under Alabama, ask if folks there are getting banded.

Also, like mentioned before, there are other ways. financing, borrowing, saving some. Of course, we don't know your details, but would like you to encourage you to GO FOR IT!
