Motivation

Help! My surgery isn't until June 16th, I have to finance it myself and I need until then to have all of my money. I am also happy to wait until then because I can prove to myself that I am capable of making some changes. Namely stop drinking soda, become accustomed to taking supplements, eating Breakfast everyday, not snacking...on and on.... So please someone, give me your tips on how you motivate yourselves and how you stay motivated.

Thank you!

Anna

Whew, thats a hard one. I did stop drinking soda. I just made the decision one day and did it. I dont' know how! lol

I guess maybe just getting close to my surgery date is motivating me.

Sorry I'm no help.

I was oakley, i put my mind to it and just stopped all the sodas. . . I also just stopped rum and cokes (loved those) and since my surgery have not had one craving for sodas or a drink of rum. . .I'm soooooooooooooo happy. . . the mind is a powerful thing and if you REALLY want to stop you can. . . good luck

I am also in the looong waiting game. My surgery isn't until May. I have started reducing my soda and coffee intake by half. I heard that caffine withdrawals can be a pain...literally, so I am doing it gradually. Next month I will go down the other 50% so I can start learning good habits to replace my soon be gone current ones. I am working on my behavior modification by taking it week to week with the intent of being "ready" one full month before my surgery. This includes weight loss, drinks, foods...including tasting what kind of purees I am going to like and soups etc. I hope you take the time to read serveral thread here...these people are a huge support and help for resources, recipes, etc.

Good luck and be well.

Rob

Weaning your self off carbs is another thing you can strat. I had a major headache during pre-op from the low carb deit , then from the no caffine. I was a big coffee and deit coke drinker, spent a week with the withdrawl headache.

Congrats on getting your date, it will be here befoe you now it.
