I love reading these posts. Thanks for the great information. I have two questions about pre-op testing.

What exactly is an EKG? Do I have to run on a treadmill or is that just for a stress test? And for the chest X-ray is there a machine that I have to fit into? Can I keep my bra on for these tests? How about a sports bra?

I had an EKG last week for pre-op and it took longer to set it up than actually measure my heart beat. The nurse put a dozen electrodes all over me while I laid down. I did have to take off my bra. I think the test was one minute of heart activity. No xray required for my pre-op, just blood tests.

For the chest xray you have to take off your bra, but you wear a gown. It's a stand up test....

Ekg - electrocardiogram . . they only put some pads on your chest, arms and legs to see what your heart is doing . . . no running . . . chest xray, bras come off, sports bra and all. . . good luck
