confused pre op vs post op

I know pre op is full liquids and protein shakes but I am confused about after surgery I was told shakes are to thick so how are we getting protein I have a protein poweder that mixed with milk would be technically a shake but im confused about post op diet

    I got my protein from IsoPure drinks. My doc required a CLEAR protein for 2 days post-op. I drank them for 10 before my body could handle anything else.

    i was able to handle full liquid shakes like that after 3 days post op,... listen to your body.. most would like you to be clear liquids atleast a week

Every doctor has their own post op diet regimen. You will need to talk to yours for further clarification because we don't know his rules.

Just as an example of the vast difference between doctors, my doctor puts his patients on mushies the day following surgery to be supplemented with protein shakes. I am in no way suggesting this is what you should do, just pointing it out to show you how important it is to talk to your own doctor!
