acid reflux

Has anyone's acid reflux come back? I was banded 5-13-13 and had a hiatal hernia repair as well. No acid reflux until this past week. Now it's back like it was before. I'm also fighting a port infection. We are hoping I'm not rejecting it. I'm on week two of bactrim ds. At this point he said it could go either way. I sure as hell hope it goes the good way!

I'm so sorry your having issues. I had a hernia repair the same time I had surgery for my band. I only had mild acid reflux before the surgery and have not had a problem with it since the surgery. They did prescribe acid reflux medication along with the anti-neusea meds (which they did for everyone) to get filled before the surgery so I could use it after the surgery if I had a problem. They acted as if it could be a problem after the surgery but not for a long time after. Your Dr,. would now best for you though. Good luck

I still have reflux. I also had a hernia repair, and I thought that was supposed to fix it. I guess not. I'm back on 40mg of Prilosec daily, and even so, still feel it come up into my throat. I'm beginning to wonder if my band is a bit too tight, but everything else is fine; no issues eating, no pain, etc.

Sorry you're having such problems. and I hope for you sake that you don't lose the band.
