Thinking about a revision to the bypass

I have had my band now for almost a year and it has been a struggle I have so far to date lost 60 lbs. I spoke with a new surgeon because was not very happy with the office I was seeing I was having problems and none were being addressed in my visits, but when speaking to the new surgeon she had me convinced that I had choose e wrong surgery for me and that it isn't working out because of problems I am having. Has anyone had the revision surgery ? Or know someone that did ? I am just really struggling with this band.

Just not feeling full and having pain in my right side after I eat and not losing the weight I had thought I would by now. I also have the problem of not seeing my self as any smaller my friends think I'm crazy but in all honesty I feel I look just as big as I was.

A woman from my support group had the surgery January 2012 and has loss maybe 50 lbs and she is thrilled. Everyone is different with pounds lost. Since the beginning of February I am down maybe 8-10 lbs but its not a gain. I think slowly is better for your body but then I am not a doctor.

Ask about your pains and not more surgery unless medically needed.

Good luck!

If you're having right side pain after eating you really need to have your gallbladder checked out.

Are you hungry between meals? The band isn't meant to make you feel "full", in fact if you're eating until you feel full you're likely over eating. Have a look at the link on my signature it'll help a lot.

Best wishes.

I have had my band now for almost a year and it has been a struggle I have so far to date lost 60 lbs THAT IS AWESOME!!! :o

I spoke with a new surgeon because was not very happy with the office I was seeing I was having problems and none were being addressed in my visits Unfortunately, this happens more than you know..

but when speaking to the new surgeon she had me convinced that I had choose e wrong surgery for me It's possible that bypass is the WLS that your new surgeon prefers, some specialize in different WLS' even though she is a new surgeon for you Please make sure she is a specialist in Revisions, it "might" make a big difference. and that it isn't working out because of problems I am having. What specific problems are you having? Has anyone had the revision surgery ?It's probably best to go to the bypass section to see what they have experienced, most revisions don't hang out on the LB Forum.Or know someone that did ? I know people that have had bypass, but it was a virgin surgery not band to bypass :(

I am just really struggling with this band.I'm sorry your struggling, I hope you find answers

Can't speak to your pain, but looking at your pictures if you can't see the difference I don't know what to tell you. Maybe glasses?
