Were any of you on your cycle for surgery, and was it a problem. I have waited 5 months and guess what is going to show up at surgery time. I don't figure it will be, but just thought I would throw it out there and see if any one had an issue with it.

Bingo, just got blessed. Great, surgery is Tuesday - it is, what it is. Like the others said, they are not operating down there. But you know, it's not fun to be groggy - flowing, and begging to get up so you don't have an accident. That's really all it is, the fear of the "accident" Maybe, I'll just get myself depends for a day - that ought to solve that ?

Being on your period isn't a problem. Make sure to wash well and 'tidy up' down there in case they need to do an in and out cath. Period blood is def. not the grossest thing nurses see. The doc won't see down there at all.

I didn't have any catheter with my surgery. I didn't know anyone did since its such a short procedure. I didn't have one with my gallbladder either.

I've had other surgeries while on my period and the doctors and nurses could care less! I even had an angiogram where they go into the artery in your groin O.o I had on the "sexy" gauze "just had a baby" panties the hospital supplied and a pad and since they were in "that" area they cut the one side away and did their thing no embarrassment all the female nurses know what's up and the doctors have seen worse

It's no big deal

I didn't need a catheter

And I asked the doc what he does in theory if a person has their period (thank god I didn't have mine! ) and basically they just put a giant pad underneath you/between your legs

No biggie !
