Need a fresh start - 2 years post op

Hi Lap Band friends,

I'm looking for help from this site. I've lost and I've gained, but I've never maintained. I think the main problem is that I'm cheating the band with sugar liquids (I love juices and starbucks chai and all these sugary drinks), yet I barely eat anything.

Just looking for some support as to how to get fresh start with a new menu. I'm really struggling. I have this tool (lap band) but I don't seem to be using it very well.

I've just had a tightening. So, I hope that helps me.

Thank you.

My suggestion is stay away from Starbucks or wherever younarengetting your drinks. You have to break the habit, once you do your taste buds may change. Mine did, but it took a couple weeks of staying away from the sugary drinks and now I can't stand the taste. Find a substitute. I make my own tee and flavored drinks using truvia. I know it is hard, but you can do it.

I also find that logging everything keeps me accountable. I love food, so I don't drink my calories.

I would strongly encourage you to ditch the sugary sodas once and for all.

I'm on my liquid diet now and ditching the soda hasn't been easy, but I have to do it for health reasons.

Putting those zero calorie propel flavor thingys into 16 ounces of Water has truly worked wonders for me. I'm actually amazed at how good they make the water taste considering they are zero calories.

Hang in there, remind yourself why you got the band in the first place, and do the things you need to do and you will succeed.

well, if you arent eating anything, you'd lost weight and be at goal..so your eating, just not anything good...and hitting high cal foods...oh well, whats done is done......so back to basics...you seem to understand what not to do and so now, you just need to let the band work and do what works..what is good for you to eat....lean Protein, veggies/fruit...you can do it...you did it before when you got the band so you just need to do it again.....if you really want to, you will...we are here for you

all the best sweetie
