is it possible that the more weight you lose the tighter you're band can become???????? my last fill was over 2 months ago, felt restriction but it seems to be getting more and more. has anyone else experienced this? is it all good or should I be worried? would be very grateful for replies x

Your band could feel tighter because of other factors: stress, sinus drainage, TOM, some have even said cold weather, but I've not heard because of weight loss.

If you get too tight I would suggest getting a slight unfill for now.

Good luck!

My doctor has always said it get looser with weight loss and that is why we need fills. But, I do know anything that agrivates your stomach area can cause swelling and therefore tightness. I have asthma and if I have an attack that will make my band tighter - odd, but I guess it is because my diaphram is agrivating the band and the coughing.

Actually I'm experiencing this now, my last fill was about two months ago also and I was so ready for a top up about three weeks ago then I got sick and I swear my band is so much tighter now and I've cancelled my top up fills. I'm no longer sick but it feels like I've had more fill.

The band doesn't get tighter per say but..... I got a fill on 7/30 and was fine until 10/2 when my allergies kicked up when I went to NC, 4 days of not getting anything down with comfort. I was OK until about middle of Nov. and it was back again, I thought stress. DH made me go in on 12/5, doc misread my intake form and put in .5cc taking me to 6. I thought try it and see if I could get off those 10 lbs that keep going and coming. For the time since then I have barely been getting in 1/2c. No pain, but getting full quickly. Small, small, small bites and much more time when I eat.. In the first week or so I lost 8 lbs, Water is a part of it I'm sure, I had liquids for a day or so and went really slow getting to solids. It's been 2 weeks and I don't feel as much restriction, the answer to me is....SWELLING! Anytime I make my tummy upset, I have learned to do liquids and let it heal. Four years and still learning.

thanks guys. I must have irritated my stomach I think. going to be very careful for next few days or weeks. it will be the first time ive ever LOST weight over Christmas!!! long may it last :) x

I actually lost weight during Thanksgiving this year and I'm hoping to do the same at Christmas time. Just stay more active, park the car a bit farther while at the mall and make yourself walk. Once you're in the stores so many people will be in front of you and usually the pace you usually walk, it will be slower.

Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
