so upset right now

Insurance called me back and informed me that the decision process will take 15 days. I asked why another 15 days? The doctor sent the paperwork on November 29th. She didnt know why it just went to review on December 14th. Tomorrow would have been day 15 now another 15 days. Ugh.

awe, don't get discouraged.... i went through the same thing & ended up gaining 11 lbs more because i got so discouraged, then i felt worse when i got approval cuz of the weight gain. then everything went so quickly i couldn't even wrap my mind around the whole thing! lol, I'm 10 days post-op & feeling pretty good now.... good luck to you & keep your head up....

Remember, this is the time of year when people take vacation and holiday time -- so it may be that they're running with fewer staff and it's taking longer to handle the volume. Be patient. It's worth the wait :)

Bugger! Hope it all works out.

Thanks guys I'm trying to be positive, but boy its hard :(

I was denied for six more months but finally got the surgery. Discouraging but stay positive as you jump through the hoops.

I'm feeling a little better tonight. My husband is a wonderful support to me. Thanks everyone for listening. I just want this so bad. My oldest son is getting married Saturday and all I can think about is how I compare to the new in-laws they are really big in body image, eating right, going to the gym. Can't compete there. No pressure, ugh. So some good news would of helped ease the pain of the mind games that I will probably put myself through over the weekend. I guess one day at a time. Sorry just needed to vent this. No one else really understands how being heavy really make me feel. Everyone here at home is tall and slinder and can eat what ever they want. :(

Hey tigerlillie, turn this negative into a good positive and get better prepared. Start trying Protein shakes to see which you like. Then start the light dinners with some protein and learn how to chew the meat many many times (20-25) before swallowing. Start sipping your Water instead of big gulps and no straws. Once you know you're approved start buying some eating products you will need, most foods do not perish. (SF popsicles, sf jellos, oatmeal). Make sure you have a processor or blender and check to see if it works. I purchased lots of flavors of Crystal light and other sugar free liquids since carbonated drinks are not allowed by most doctors. Buy a heating pad if you don't have one, they are cheap at Walmart. And please use this forum to get instant tips from others.

Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

Thank you floridays and so true! The wait is a killer I must say. Now I wait for the nurse to call with a date and time and I need blood work, not sure why, just that they do this before surgery.
