Protein?

So the little handbook my dietician gave me says I should be getting 45g protein a day minimum but I am on mushies and I am only running on the best day about 30. Is 45g a long term goal I don't know what to do. I mix whey into Greek yogurt but I can literally only take 4-5 bites at a time before I am full

I try to drink 1 or 2 of the Pure Protein shakes everyday. One shake has 35 grams of protein. You can get them from the Vitamin Shoppe or Amazon.com.

yes... there is no way you will get your protien in at first, but you need to work up to your dr's recommendations. My dr. recommends 60g. Shakes are a good way to get in your protien, but personally... I just could not gag them down. I have no problem getting my 60+ grams.

My surgeon recommends 70g of protein. If I plan and make sure I get in a good protein bfast, I am usually between 60-70

You work up to it

When you were banded? I was not allowed greek yogurt until day 15. Even then however I added fat free milk to thin it out.

Post op day 5 here. I'm having trouble w protein AND fluids. I sip a 1/4c of protein shake over serval hours. I have 2 quarter cup portions of soup and that's all I can have all day. I feel uncomfortably full all day. Not hungry at all. Gotta get in more fluid or I'm gonna dry up. I have A appointment Monday but hurricane sandy is intervening.
