Lapband Failure...please Help

I had my surgery 13 months ago and at first lost 27 lbs. Now I weigh the same I did when I got my band. I am so discouraged and depressed. I feel like a failure. How do I start over? I don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be so appreciated.

I have only had my lapband for 6 months; but, I will tell you that I have a Large AP Lap Band that will hold 14 ccs; I have 9 ccs and I am just in the green zone; do you by chance need a small fill; this may help you so you can have a liquid diet for a couple of days to help jump start foward progress toward weight loss; good luck

What are you doing/not doing?

Are you eating the correct types of foods in the correct quantities. Are you chewing well, eating slowly etc.Are you doing any exercise? Are you sabotaging yourself by eating high cal easy to eat foods like icecream, candy, milkshakes, flavoured coffees etc?

In order to be able to help we need you to give us some more info.

call your drs nurse about your concern, find a support group in your area. buddy up if you can. do that thing like looking for a sponser(a friend who cares more than most and is not a yes person) join a gym, get a work out buddy. join a zumba class. first call the nurse! jmo good luck! sandy

I have been eating mostly low fat and some protein. i have been counting calories. I tried to do all protein and got tired of eating meat all the time. I have thought about doing nothing but shakes for a while to get the weight loss going again.

How many calories a day are you eating?

I would strongly recommend taking your food journals to a nutritionist and have them help you figure out what needs changed.

Btw, I couldn't eat nothing but meat either. But, I don't do low carb at all. I find it's totally unrealistic for me long term.

I'm on day 4 of the 5 Day Pouch Test (look it up on the internet). I've gained back 16 lbs during the last 10 months of the 104 lbs I lost. It's helping me get back on track. And I've lost 5 lbs so far! I suggest you read about it and maybe try it. Can't hurt!

Go back to your medical team and ask them to help you get on track. That is what they are there for.

Meanwhile, we will be your cheer squad and tell you what works for us.

- Control calories in

- Exercise regularly

- Small portions

- Chewed very well

- Regular follow up with my surgeon

- Managing fill level
