  1. I am wanting to get re-sleeved and was wondering if I have to meet all of the qualifications again and go through all of the testing. I have BCBSTX insurance.
  2. Has anyone been re-sleeved and self paid? Was it the same price as being sleeved for the first time?
  3. Did anyone purchase a secondary health insurance policy to help cover the cost of a revision?
  4. How many calories, carbs is everyone eating at one year post op?
  5. I am 4 months out from sleeve surgery. Am I still supposed to be in ketosis? Do I stay in ketosis until I reach my goal weight? Thanks
  6. I was sleeved 10 weeks ago and have only lost 23 lbs. I was wondering if we are supposed to be in ketosis throughout our weight loss phase?
  7. I am in the same boat. I was sleeved on Dec 20, 2016 and have only lost 23 lbs
  8. Thank you both for your replies. I have my revision surgery Dec. 20. I'm getting a little nervous.
  9. For those of you that had lap band to sleeve revision in one surgery, what was your recovery like?
  10. Thank you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  11. I am getting a band to sleeve revision next month and I was wondering if anyone still gets heartburn after their sleeve operation. My friend that was sleeved last December says that she sometimes wakes up literally choking because of the stomach acids coming up at night. Does this happen to anyone? What causes it and how do I prevent it? Thanks
  12. I have a consultation with Dr. Hollis in Houston tomorrow to see if I can get a band to sleeve revision. I will be self pay since my insurance doesn't cover any bariatrics. Since I will be self pay, does anyone know if I will have to go through all the testing again like I did before I had my lap band put in? Also, does anyone have any idea how much a revision surgery will cost? Thanks.
  13. I have an appointment Wednesday to see if I can get a revision to the sleeve. I am paying cash since insurance won't cover it. I was wondering if I will have to go through all the testing again if I am paying cash. I really don't want to wait another 6 months to have surgery. Also, did anyone have any complications from the revision? Any regrets? Were you finally able to lose the weight?
  14. Does anyone living in Texas have an individual health plan that covers bariatric surgery?
  15. For those of you that track your food, when you lost your weight what nutrients did you track? Did you just count calories or did you track Protein and carbs too? Thanks
  16. How do I get back in touch with my band? I got a fill a couple of weeks ago and I can still overeat. I thought the fill would help. I was checked out and everything was fine with the band. The nurse mentioned maybe going back on all liquids for a week and maybe that would help or doing all protein for a while. Has anyone else been told this to get back in touch with their band? I don't know if I can do a meat only diet. I did Atkins diet one time and got so sick of meat that I couldn't stomach it for a while. I don't think a meat only diet is sustainable in the long run. I need to learn to eat healthy for the rest of my life. Any advice would be appreciated.
  17. I am so glad I found this group. I had my band surgery in Sept 2011 and lost 62 lbs. The last few months I have let "life" get in the way and I have regained some. I was told to go back to the basics but never really understood what that means. I have been told it means to go back to liquids for a week then eat Protein and veggies and no carbs. I was also told to eat whatever but don't go over 1200 calories. I am so confused. I am going to read every post in this group and see if I can get a definite answer on how to lose weight again. Lisa
  18. I was banded 3 yrs ago. I lost 68 lbs and have not been able to lose anymore. I would like a support buddy as well to help me get back on track.
  19. This is for all the lap band veterans. I've been banded for a few years now and I am starting to gain some weight back. I need to get in control before I gain all my weight back. What is the best way to start losing again? Should I do Protein shakes only for a few days or totally cut out the carbs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lisa
  20. Thank you for sharing your website with us. Lots of yummy recipes on there. I subscribed to your blog.
  21. JimmyXXL I know what you mean. I had Fluid removed several months ago and it set me back too. I have been struggling with getting back on track for a while now and have been looking for support as well. I haven't used my fitness pal in a while but need to start again so I can see exactly how much I am eating. My username on my fitness pal is Lisa9258 if you want to add me as a friend. Songstress It is so easy to eat around the band. Every time I do it I feel terrible and wonder why I keep doing this to myself. Let's all support each other.
  22. For those of you counting carbs do you count the carbs in your vitamins? I am taking a liquid multi that has 5 total carbs in them and was wondering if I should count the carbs since I am trying to stay under 50 carbs a day.
  23. Your experience sounds a lot like mine. I was banded in 2011 and had to get an unfill and I gained a lot of my weight back. I have been struggling and would also like to know if anyone has had the same experience we have and how they finally lost the weight.
  24. Thanks for all the replies. PGX is basically glucomannan which is a natural fiber you can get at the health food store. I saw it on Dr. Oz. Since the chewable ones seem to fill you up and keep you regular I may just pick some up at Walmart. Thanks guys
  25. Has anyone heard of the fiber supplement called PGX? I was wondering if it is ok to take fiber with a lap band.
