Post Op Stomach Pain

Hey I have a question.....for the past 2 days I have had a really tight stomach, I felt very full but I hadnt eaten, and my stomach actually hurts, I am able to keep the water down , should I be concerned about the pain...its not unbearable but i have not had any problems since my surgery, but i am so afraid of slippage and erosion that is ridiculous! I had a Hard BM the other day if i strained could i have done something? Could something be stuck? should I call my Dr? will he think I am crazy? PLEASE help

Ive been having pain too at 2 weeks post op. I started to eat soft foods today and I'm getting what feels like sharp extreme hunger pains every 2 hours... I don't know what the heck that's all about. Not too sure if I'm hungry or if my stomachs angry that I ate real food vs purée :P I called my nurse and she said that it's just my stomach getting used to everything...how long ago was your surgery?

I was banded 3 months ago and I just dont get it I feel full but hungry at the same time!!!!!!

how about just giving the dr a call to make sure all is well.

it will certainly relieve any (omgosh is something wrong) because those of us on here can only guess and we arent doctors (well i am not and i sorry if i offended anyone)

so if you are worried, call the dr or nurse and ask them what you posted here. i am sure you are fine :)

Okay, I had the same problems for the past 2 days as well. I just saw my surgeon today and he said that I am straining too much and it can cause discomfort in the stomache area. I still have problems with BM. He suggested metamucil, and to start adding benefiber to my diet daily. Metamucil until I can go. These are powder forms to be mixed with water. Constipation can give your severe cramps/bloatedness/fullness/ not to mention irritability.

If it continues after trying these, contact your surgeon and let him/her know what you are going through. Oh, try not to strain so much I was told :)

Best of luck,

Patty

Strain meaning going to the bathroom ?

I gave pain in my chest

I did a lot of housework and now it really hurts

Not sure how the band is supposed to feel !

Yes, pain associated with straining and pushing for BM. Please if you are feeling any sorts of pain in the chest area you should always contact your doctor. I have been straining myself for weeks when my symptoms occured. Has your pain gone away since you rested after cleaning? You have to listen to your body when symptoms occur, take notes if you can when they exactly happen. You could of exerted yourself. If you are recently out from surgery you should be taking it easy so your new stomache can heal.

Let us know how you are doing
