1000 Calorie Diet

Hi everyone I am getting banded on October 17. My surgeon has me on a 1000 calorie a day pre op. I was wondering if anyone else had to do the same. I do see that most banders had a liquid diet before surgey. I am eating low fat high Protein but worry that might my liver will still be fatty.

Every dr uses the diet they feel is best for their patient. If you are comfortable with your surgeon then trust him or her and be very happy you don't have to drink liquid fr 2 weeks

Good luck

I too was given a low fat 1000 calorie a day diet plan. I was also given an alternate plan of 3 shakes and one low fat meal. My doctor only does liquids only if your bmi is over 50..
