Help!

I am supposed to start my pre-op regimine on Wednesday and have been trying to doctor up the bariatric advantage shakes to make them somewhat edible. Unfortunately, I have extreme taste bud sensitivity and they make me want to vomit! I can't do it! Anyone have an alternative?

What about optifast.............you have to buy it (most likely from surgeon). I couldn't do Carnation.........too thick and creamy - yuck.

I'm on Optifast they were not bad at all! Pre mixed in a juice box type container great grab n go;)

I had to make my opti........which is fine with me, I even bought more for post op.

try syntrax matrix 5, I like the mint cookie, but they have other flavors. It is wonderful, for me anyway. I ordered mine from amazon, very easy.

I think that you are getting some great advice, but unfortunatly, you really need to speak to your surgeons office to find out what they will accept for your pre-op. You need to do this to get your surgery, so however terrible they may be for you, you will need to just suck it up and suck them back. Have you tried straws? Blended with lots of ice? I didn't even taste mine until day 1 of preop, didn't want to deal with it until I had to.

I would try to get someone on the phone tomorrow from your clinic and figure out what they will accept.

Good luck to you!!!

Cindy- I looked it up.. Carnation has 20g of sugar compared to 1 in Bariatric Advantage and like 16g of of carbs compared to 7... I don't think they will let me do that.. Thank you for a great alternative!

That's the regular. I was talking about sugar free.
