So sorry, so much to go through, they did not test for gallbladder before your banding surgery?

Sorry you have had such a rough start to your weight loss journey.

You've had an additional set of challenges to contend with...and feelings of regret are quite common. Try to get back your focus on the reasons why you chose to have your band placed...and take a day at a time and use this time to heal and feel better emotionally and physically.

I also have experienced some medical complications...and questioned my wisdom to have WLS. I refocus myself on the alternatives of the health that my weight was stealing from me, and my journey becomes easier to comply with what I know I need to do for me.

I hope you feel better fast...

Do you still have your band???????????????? If so you will be fine, Gall Bladder is no walk in the park. You got the double whammy but it will all be worth it in 6 weeks . My THanksgiving you will be thankful for that band. Good Luck

Wow I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time. Had my band the day before you and thankfully so far so good. You'll be fine after you recuperate from the gallbladder. I bet it probably doesn't feel that way now though.

I am so sorry for you. I was in almost the same boat. Exactly one month to the day of my lap band surgery my appendix ruptured and was back in surgery!! Ugh !!!

Try to focus on why you had the surgery. The trials and tribulations you go through now will all be worthwhile as you recover and the weight starts coming off.

Unfortunately, weight loss can cause gallbladder stones. I found that out when mine went bad almost immediately when I hot back to the gym. In fact, that's what brought me to WLS.

Cholecystitis is no joke. The pain beforehand is bad! And I made it through labor without meds!!

TRY to compartmentalization what pain goes with what surgery and re-evaluate. Try to focus on what made you choose WLS. A pesky gallbladder doesn't change all the positives - tho I know it's rough.

It is what it is... but it is what you make it!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
