Hum.. Chest Discomfort

Well, this is weird. My chest is kinda bugging me. Doesn't feel like gas & I'm not in "pain" persay, but I am uncomfortable. I felt it this morning when I got up, before eating. It just feels.... "heavy." I don't feel sick, but do feel like I need to stretch & stand up or something.

I ate today (omelette for Breakfast & Protein drink for lunch) so nothing solid really. I don't feel worse.

Gonna watch it, but I'm not sure what it is...

Has anyone else had this before?

Has it gotten better as the day goes on? I know some people and I am one of them notice that their band seems to be tighter in the morning. I usually only do a protein shake in the morning because I am so tight. It keeps me full for a good 5 hours until I have a small lunch around 1-1:30. As the day goes on it loosens up.

I haven't had my 1st fill yet (next week), so it doesn't have anything to do with tightness. I did, however, notice when I got up to walk around earlier, that I was able to burp, and it seems to help. The discomfort is still there, but not as much.

Now what the heck is this all about? Grrr....

Thanks for the quick feedback Jim

you could be experiencing morning tightness, or even some heartburn .. keep an eye out for the feeling, if it continues call up your surgeon.

Best of luck hon :)

Could be gas. Does your Doc have you on Pepcid or anything similar? My Doc wanted me to take pepcid once a day regardless of whether or not I had gas or acid reflux. He wanted me on it the first 3 months of post op. Like Patty said if it keeps up definitely call the Doc. Best to be safe.

it sounds like what my friends jim and patts say but call your doctor to ease your mind. i would.

keep us in the know :)

Did you ever find out what was wrong I'm going through the same thing right now and I'm in so much pain

I really didn't, sorry. I'm guessing it was probably gas related. Try to put a heating pad on yourself & take some gas ex. Hopefully, that will help.

I go to the doc tomorrow I just hope it's not a slip I don't know to much about the band slipping , but know it could happen

I had my band slip' date=' you feel like death. You can't keep anything down.[/quote']

I can keep everything down I'm in soft foods right now been eating a lot of bean and guacamole and mash potatoes but I can tell when it goes down I have a hard time , but I have bad bad very bad heartburn and I'm just uncomfortable but not really pain just something not right ....

I don't think your band is slipped. You wouldn't be able to hold that down.

It wasn't think goodness it was just gas I had big big pockets around the band and I had to get something a little stronger than gas x , and my band was to tight and causing the heartburn I went to doc today and already feel much better
