Thicker Protein Shakes

I am trying to come up with ways to thicken my Protein shakes without adding lots of calories or sugar. I know that ice makes it thicker, but I also feel that it flattens out the flavor too. I currently add part of a banana, and I know some people use a little fat-free, sugar free pudding powder, or Thick-it. Does anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks!

Mix chia seeds into it. Be careful, not too many. They do swell.

Sometimes I add greek yogurt (or regular yogurt) for flavor and it also thickens the shake. I also add banana and peanut butter and that works too!

Try the Goya pureed fruits. I added passion fruit and blueberry to mine this morning. Yum!!

You could maybe try adding a little oat bran.

What type of shake are you starting with?

i put my shake in the freezer and let it get to the thickness i want.........milkshake or slush...its very good.

I use frozen bananas with almond milk and splenda. It takes just like a banana shake! Yum!

That sounds tasty! I'm going to have to try that!!

If you want a super thick shake, try Casein protein shakes. Any brand you want, I get mine from GNC. They are actually to drink before bed. It is a slow releasing protein and keeps your body fueled through the night.

My husband makes me a great shake with quick oats, chocolate protein powder, fibre, and 1tbsp of peanut butter! Not only is it chocked with protein but it definitely kills any cravings.

45-55 minutes in freezer makes a delicious smoothie out of protein shake.
