Anyone have issues with diarreah (sorry, hate that word) after surgery when you had gall bladder removed? I am 7 days post op and have had a spell of diarreah at least once per day since surgery. With or without taking in a full liquids it hasnt failed that in some point of the day, it comes and im running for the ladies room. :/

I have my post op appt on Monday the 30th and will ask my dr then, but in the mean time was wondering if anyone else has experienced this??

I had my gallbladder out when I was banded a week ago and it took a couple of days but the diarrhea finally kicked in. I asked at my post op appointment and my doc said to expect it for 2-3 months. Od

I did. My gallbladder was removed in Aug. 2011 and I was banded July 22, 2012. For the first 2 weeks I battled upset stomach, but once that stopped it went the other way- now I am having trouble going.

I battled with diarrhea for a few years after having my gallbladder out. Fibre seems to help.

I had my gallbladder out when I was banded a week ago and it took a couple of days but the diarrhea finally kicked in. I asked at my post op appointment and my doc said to expect it for 2-3 months. Oddly though, since I talked to him on Tues I haven't had any. At that appt I was graduated to full liquids so I thought with drinking milk and creamed based soups that my diarrhea would be out of control but it seems to be okay. My doc recommended taking Immodium, but I lived on that before my surgery so I was used to taking it. Take one before you eat and then another if you have the upset stomach.

I hope it gets better for you!
