Post Op 6 Days

I am post op six days and have a great deal of bruising around port. My doctor said its normal but I wanted to know if anyone went thru this and how long did it last?

Also, I am swollen quite a bit, how long does this last? Other than that I feel great going for my first outside walk today. Any advice on eating at this stage is also welcome. Thank you.

I had bruising and swelling. It's different for everyone. I'm 9 days post op. I'm on liquids. I'm up to being able to have runny porridge. Wobbly jelly. I have been living on home made vegetable soups which I blend. My doctor has said anything that can go through a straw. Next week I will go on to mushy food.

I am also 6 days post op and am still bruised and swollen. However, the swelling has gone down significantly. I am not in a whole lot of pain either. I see my doc for first checkup on the 24th.

I have been living on Protein shakes, miso Soup (just the broth), chicken broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jello and lots of Water.

I am one week post op and still have quite a bit of swelling around the port area. It isn't bruised though. My doctor had me on mushies for a few days and then said I could have anything I could tolerate. All has been great so far. I was very weak for a time but feel better now that I'm getting some calories in.
