Shoulder Pain

I am 5 days post-op. Everything has been going well until today. Progressively my abdominal pain has been decreasing. Now today I start with really bad left shoulder pain and pain under left rib cage. I was wondering if I could hear others experiences that may have been similar and possibly hear some positive stories that it goes away soon?

It hurts : ( And the pain meds do not seem to touch it.

Today 90% of shoulder pain gone! But.... I am very sore like I did a 100 sit ups. I am sure it's all part of the healing process. Hope ya'll found some relief the last few days :)

I have the same "reverse burps" feels like the worst hiccups in the world. Please tell me all the shoulder and ribcage pain will pass if anyone can relate...

I took my liq hydrocodone, doused my shoulder in bio freeze and laid down w the heating pad and pain is goneeeee

Thank you JeSUS!!!

Is anyone having pain in their left side? I'm not sure where my port is and I don't like poking around my incisions (weak stomach with cuts, blood  ), so this may be why my side hurts, but it could be gas too. My shoulder hurts, but Aleve helps with this. I have been taking Gas X strips regularly and they sort of help.

I have the same problem as anume. I am almost six months post op and still get wicked left shoulder pain from time to time. It usually lasts 10-15 mins and nothing relieves the pain-except time. It is the result of eating too quickly/too much. In my case, I don't get the sensation until a few minutes after I've eaten. So if this happens to you down the road, you'll know why.

Thank you for letting me know the cause of this! It has been driving me crazy!

I'm 5 days on from my surgery and tonight I got this awful pain where i think my band is. Below my ribs on the left? It feels like its knocking against something or rubbing. I am constipated and was worried I put a little too much effort in in the bathroom. I have taken some pain killers, enough to usually numb everything but every time I move it hurts. It's 2:30am in Aus and I'm trying to decide if I should page my surgeon.
