Switching To Sleeve

Went to the doctor and he gave me the pros and cons of lap band and the pros and cons of the sleeve. I feel the sleeve would be best for me. He said since I am young a foreign body for that long wouldn't be best for me. And that makes sense. I wanted to say thank you for all your support thus far :) you guys are great. Good luck on your own journeys!

Antwan, I do not think it sounded negative just informative. Are you post op or pre op? Your profile doesn't tell us about you!! Come on share . . . .

Well..... first of all..... no need to be skeptical about who I am. If I wanted to be anonymous, I wouldn't have signed! lol

I never said it was a "quick" fix. It is what everyone who chooses surgery hopes will be a fix to the problem... but it is not the answer IN MY OPINION.

Doctors, centers, and clinics are making a fortune operating on people who are suffering with a very complex issue. Yes, it is a tool... but it is a costly tool with an inceasingly high failure rate. European studies are much more accurate because they have been doing the procedures for a longer period of time.

No need to get hostile... I'm not bashing you and your choice... just hopeful that people who are considering surgery will think again.

Off again I ride into internet obscurity.... lol

Be well! :)

The failure rate is mostly from when you decide to not change your diet. The band is for people who can diet but can't keep it off or dieting and exercise results in little weight change.

But thanks to continue to stretch the true. Increasing failure rate? Most people who state this talk about studies from people who have older bands. The newest band is a different cat.

You can do whatever you wish on this board. I'm already banded. You might as well put an advertisement for your website or product you're going to advertise soon. Or perhaps you're from the weight watchers board and your overly sad because you've tried every diet and exercise but you haven't lost any weight.

Just my .02

OH and by the way why must all surgical procedures be cheap for people? I still say there's a specific reason why you created an account almost 4 years ago and just now decided to post. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough.

Passive aggressive much, Amy?

lol

Tasha-girl, DO YOU.

Do what is going to work for you and best of luck to all. Even Amy who is on her own journey as well.

I liked the idea of the sleeve because it cuts out the part of your stomach that hides the dreaded HUNGER HORMONES...

work it...

own it..

To play devil's advocate here, there are studies that show the ghrelin hormone regrows over time.
