I was banded on June 29. It's been a week today. Most of the incisions hardly can feel. But the one which i believe is probably right underneath the band is pretty tender. Also there is a hard knot underneath the incision. Is that the band? Also feel pretty bloated all the time between navel and chest. Just wanting to make sure these things are normal. Was banded in Mexico since insurance won't pay and ao i don't have a dr. I can run and see for everything. Thanks

I was banded 6/28 and my big incision is still pretty tender and I definitely still feel bloated. I was assuming that knot thing (I have one too) is the port, but maybe someone who knows more can answer that.

I was banded same day as you. I think the biggest incision is your port one, which is mine. It hurts the most (others can't really feel anymore) and it's a tiny hard. Mine is on my right side, highest up. The bloating for me is only finally starting to subside - I think it's a mix of the gas still in me and also the swelling from my stomach. I haven't thrown up at all but have had several PAINFUL rounds of throwing up what turned into just big bleches... gas x helped and so did heat pad. As I've had those and finally potty workings too, my bloating is going away. I hope it does soon for you too. Sounds normal to me since my experience is similar to yours. We can keep in touch and compare notes if you want since we're band day buddies. Don't worry about what you're feeling now, and I hope your pain is under control. Best of luck to you!!

Fericito, would love to be your band buddy. Would love to have someone to cheer on and with. Thanks to everyone who has answered my questions.

The biggest incision is the one where your port is located. The hard thing you may be able to feel is your port. You cannot actually feel your band.

ok, here's my 2 cents: I was banded June 13th and where my port is, is still really sore and tender. Just had my first follow up visit this past week and come to find out I had clear Fluid about the size of a ping pong ball in there under the incision and that is why mine was hurting and hard. It did open up a tad and drain over the weekend but not enough to get rid of the all the Fluid. My dr said that my body may absord it naturally and to watch for fever and redness and warmth around the port sight, nothing so far so no infection I guess just fluid, he called it something but can't remember. He didn't seem alarmed. I go in next Thurs for my first fill so I guess he will check my incision again. Hope all works out for you. As for the bloating and gas, try walking around, it helps. It moves the gas along.

the port incision is the biggest one... the port is seating in muscle so you will feel a hard lump there as everything heals . my port is about three inches to the left of my navel... i had a lump (hard swelling) there for quite a while. i wasnt concerned because i knew that muscle reacts that way when its had surgery. So... give it time and everything will settle nicely for you.

i have to ask... do you have a follow up dr or clinic for fills etc?? also... the hardness below where you think the band is?? thats due to the trauma of surgery as well... dont panic. just do all the right things now and you will do fine.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
