Congratulations!! I have started a group for August 2012 banders you're welcome to join.. I'm new at this but realized we have several Aug. banders popping up on here. I'm scheduled for Aug 28th and would appreciate reading about your experiences/thoughts/feeling about having WLS. Good luck. slojo67

Congratulations!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!! My surgery is scheduled 8/20 and I am Sooooo excited to start my new healthy life.

I know it, I just can hardly stand it I want to to do this so badly... My friends and family think I'm crazy but I don't care... I'm so glad to share with you on here because you know how I feel, and how exciting it is to know that we'll have a tool to help us look good and be healthy and that our success totally depends on us, but we still have our little lap- bands, (mine is going to be named Gertrude), to help curve our food intake so that we can acheive our goals. It's so exciting...

I've decided I don't care what other people think too. Just last weekend someone tells me people have died from lapband. So me being me looked up the articles and had her read them. Then yesterday my mother asked why was I doing it and is it what I really wanted to do. This was after I heard her tell someone on the phone what I weigh and how she didn't know I was that fat. My husband and kids ( all 7 of them support me). I have spent the last 30 years worrying about my family and their needs. The youngest is 17 now it's time to worry about me. I want to be around to see my 4 grandchildren grow up. I have heard comments about how the money could be spent on other things since I am self pay. Well my husband is more than willing to pay. He is tired of seeing me depressed, tired, and sick due to being overweight. I'm not looking forward to the pain but like anything worth it there will be some pain to go through. Do I have worries about surgery? Yes I do but as many surgeries I have had that's normal. The putting in of the IV scares me more than the surgery lol

congrats on getting your band. i love your attitude.

do this for you and no one else.

iv only hurts a smidge of a second

all the best hon

Congratulations!!
