Hello!

HI,

I'm Alex, I am 21 years old and am hopefully getting the lapband with plication in August! I'm really nervous but I know its what is best for me. I have been reading this forum for a few months now, and I finally decided to join. I look forward to talking and hearing from everyone!

That''s awesome! I haven't heard from anyone else that has had the plication. Do you think it has helped you more than just the band would have? I'm kinda nervous about it since its so new, but my Dr is dong it free so I figure I might as well go for it. Thanks!

It's still a new procedure. My doc did it on me and I'm part of a research study. The unknown is how things will be long term, but I felt good about my decision. I've had 1 post op appointment and everything looks good. I go back again in a few weeks.

I'm hopeful to lose more weight in the beginning with the plication. Fingers crossed!

Kah' date=' how was your recovery? I'm looking to have this surgery next month?

Any advise would be great! Thanks![/quote']

I stayed 1 night in the hospital and left the next day at noon. The first night at home was uncomfortable with gas pain, but each day got better. I was back at work 6 days later. I stopped the percocet on day 5 and switched to tylenol. I didn't eat much the first week which is normal. I'm 2 weeks post op and feeling pretty much normal. The recovery really wasn't too bad at all. The gas is the worst part.
