Just wanted to say hello! My husband is scheduled to get his surgery 7-25-12. I'm excited since it will be a possitive thing for his and my life. But I do not see any forums on what I need to expect. Plenty of help for him, I was wondering if there was anything I need to know. How hard is it to find recepies? good sites? eatting on the go? Please help me get ready.

Congratulations to both you and your husband. It's fantastic that you are so supportive and that will be an enormous help to him. My husband is my greatest support and I doubt I could have done this without him.

you can support him by being aware that he will get frustrated, he will struggle with old eating behaviours and with expectations. You can support him by exercising with him, walking, cycling, swimming, dancing are all great shared activities.

good luck to both of you

My husband is my best friend and he supports me 100% ..... BUT ... he has always been able to eat anything and he just dosen't get it... He has watched me Pb ing and he feels really bad. Being a woman I prepare the food and I make what he eats and I eat what I need . I eat off his plate many times when we eat out. He has never complained when I order something and eat 3 fork fulls. One time I promptly vomited a $40.00 meal in the resturaunt bathroom, We live and learn sometimes it is the hard way. Listen encourage don't bring crap in the house eat it somewhe else and go with him when he excercise but remember it is his journey and much as you love him it is up to him to do it...

Your already off to a great start by being so concerned and asking questions:) he will need a good support system because there are many up and down days sometimes I am really tight and cant get all my protein in and im sluggish and tired or terribly bloated or constipated..or ive had to be unfilled three times and my poor hubby has been scared to death seein me dehydrated and throwing up but I thank god he was here for me :).. Not sure about your hubby but my dad does not like to eat in public because he does not like to get sick in a public restroom or feel like he waisted his money.. Everyone is a little diffrent..
